Mull in Autumn

After a busy spring and summer, autumn is often one of the best times of year to be in this part of the world, when the colours glow and the pace of life for wildlife and us slows down. On this trip we can take our time to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of wonderful Mull and its wildlife.

"On both the mainland and Mull we explored some wonderful tiny little lanes through forgotten landscapes, ancient trees and wild shore lines; places that it was hard to believe still exist in this country. Fabulous! And then, of course, there was that breath-taking Otter encounter. It was happily making its way along the edge of the loch hunting, occasionally finding something and pausing to eat it. As it got closer to us, it came nearer to the shore bringing its latest catch onto the rocks. Even after finishing its meal it hung around for a while, almost as though it was posing for us, for it was undoubtedly aware of us and quite relaxed. What I particularly noticed were its pointy teeth and webbed feet, which we had a great view of. After a while it slipped back into the water and carried on its way along the shore line. Just wonderful!" Sarah Sharland, 2020
